Ordering and Associated Tests
Communicate the need for AHF to the SVMC Laboratory Blood Bank.
Lab will order.
AHF is measured in international units "IU" of activity.
Dosage depends on patient's weight and the severity of the
hemophilia.
No associated blood bank tests.
Availabitlity and Turn-around Guidelines
One dose routinely stocked and available for issue within 15
minutes. Additional doses must be special ordered by contacting
Blood Bank are available within 24-48 hours.
Transfusionist will reconstitute the dry concentrate at patient's
bedside per provided instructions. Administer within one hour. Do
not refrigerate after reconstitution
