Ordering and Associated Tests
Order as ARBC, plus quantity that patient has donated.
Blood Group and Type (ABORH) and Antibody Screen (ANS) will automatically be added to requisition.
Availabitlity and Turn-around Guidelines
Autologous blood is made available to the SVMC Blood Bank from the American Red Cross. Allow at least one week lead time for each unit that the patient donates. For scheduling and information contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-727-7927. Autologous RBC's are reserved through the units expiration date (42 days from date of collection).
