Effectively blocks the formation of Rh(D) antibody in Rh negative mothers
Ordering and Associated Tests
Order as RHIGS. ABlood Type and Screen (TS) will automatically be added to the requisition. See "RH-Immune Globulin Screen" procedure for additional details. A fetal screen test may be done to determine the need for additional doses of RHIG
Availabitlity and Turn-around Guidelines
Routinely in stock and available for issue within 24 hours if testing confirms the need for this product. Rh(D)-Immune Globulin must be given within 72 hours of delivery or potential sensitizing incident (i.e. miscarriage, abortion etc.).
