Automatic Manual Differential Criteria

An automatic manual differential will be performed when:

WBC <3.0 OR >25.0

% granulocytes <35.0 or >90.0

% lymphocytes >55.0

eosinophil are >13%

basophils are >4%

monocytes are >20%

mcv <72.0 or >105.0

mch <25.0

mchc >36.6

rdw >20.0

pltc <50,000 or >700,000

absolute lyumphocyte count of 5.00 on any adult (age 16 or older) with an inverted electronic differential.

if a 5-part electronic differential is not available.

An nrbc is seen in a patient with hgb <10 g/dL

a 5-part electronic diffenential is not available

a patient has had 25 or mor bands on a previous differential (same illness time frame)

any wbc IP message from the analyzer
