The results of this assay can be falsely elevated due to the consumption of Biotin.  Please instruct patients to discontinue the use of vitamins or supplements that contain Biotin 12hrs before blood draw.

Interpretive Data

< 10 IU/mL - Nonreactive. Negative for anti-Rubella IgG antibodies.

≥ 10 IU/mL - Reactive. Positive for anti-Rubella IgG antibodies. The presence of IgG antibodies to Rubella virus is an indication of previous exposure either by prior infection or by vaccination.
